Too often we take for granted, or give credit to, the big cities like New York, Paris, Miami, Los Angeles, and London for the accomplishments in the arts.
On August 24th from 6-8pm the Verne Gallery will, for the first time, present the works of three of the many up-and-coming stars of Cleveland. The show is called A Breath Of Fresh Air.
John Gregor grew up in Cleveland Ohio, and he creates the lyrics and music for many of the plays in New York City to sold out audiences and rave reviews. We will be showing his watercolors for the first time in Cleveland.
Yuko Kimura has over 10 museum exhibitions through 2026 in a traveling exhibitions called Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper, curated by Meher McArthur. In 2005, New York Times critic Benjamin Gennochio wrote, “There is usually too much available, …but occasionally you hit upon something tasty and out of the ordinary like Yuko Kimura.”
Liz Maugans is the leader and Mayor of the Cleveland Art World. After my exhibition, you can see lots more of her work at the wonderful Hedge Gallery at 78th St. Studios in Cleveland. Hedge Gallery is a fantastic place to see many more great Cleveland artists. Her humorous drawings just make us laugh, and her flowers series symbolizes love, beauty, and the resilience to overcome many of life’s occurrences.
On August 25, John Gregor will be giving a special short presentation at 2 pm Sunday August 25th at the Verne Gallery called, Pinkarific: Love, Joy, and Not Taking Yourself Too Seriously.
I hope you enjoy this online exhibition, and I hope to see you on the 24th at A Breath Of Fresh Air and the 25th to hear John speak about art, his life, and his life as a composer and lyricist in New York City.
Please come and meet all three artists on the 24th. The exhibition continues through September 15th.
